This position is ideal for a mechanically and technically capable problem-solver who enjoys customer-facing work, travel, and learning emerging robotics technology. You will independently perform approved Tier 2 service work while developing the skills required to lead standard deployments.

What You’ll Do

  • Respond to dispatched onsite service incidents and complete approved troubleshooting, repair, testing, and return-to-service activities.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, sensor, charging, docking, connectivity, configuration, and operational issues using structured troubleshooting methods.
  • Replace approved field-serviceable components, record parts and serial numbers, and verify operation after repair.
  • Complete preventive maintenance inspections, cleaning, permitted adjustments, calibrations, software or firmware checks, and operational tests.
  • Stage robots, docks, chargers, accessories, consumables, safety materials, and deployment tools; document freight or product damage.
  • Assist with site assessments, VSLAM/LiDAR/marker mapping, route and coverage configuration, commissioning, integrations, acceptance testing, and go-live support under qualified supervision.
  • Conduct repeat route and coverage tests under realistic site conditions and document issues requiring adjustment or escalation.
  • Support customer and operator training on startup, normal operation, charging, docking, consumables, routine fault recovery, and escalation procedures.
  • Complete accurate and timely service reports, tickets, labor and travel entries, expense records, photographs, test results, and customer acknowledgments.
  • Maintain assigned tools, diagnostic equipment, PPE, field spares, consumables, and vehicle stock.

Required Qualifications

  • One to three years of relevant field service, equipment maintenance, electronics, IT field support, robotics, automation, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, equipment repair, or similar hands-on experience; an associate degree, technical diploma, military technical training, apprenticeship, or related certificate with meaningful hands-on experience may substitute.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electromechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to safely use common hand tools, meters, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer-approved service equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, connectors, batteries, sensors, motors, charging systems, and component replacement.
  • Working knowledge of IP addressing, Wi-Fi, access points, signal coverage, MAC addresses, and basic connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow technical manuals, diagrams, checklists, service bulletins, and escalation procedures.
  • Clear customer-facing communication and professional written documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record appropriate for business travel.
  • Ability to travel and work independently at customer sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics, AMRs/AGVs, industrial cleaning equipment, automation, electronics repair, material-handling systems, or field service.
  • Familiarity with LiDAR, VSLAM, markers, mapping, docking, fleet configuration, IoT devices, APIs, low-voltage controls, elevators, automatic doors, or gates.
  • Experience with CMMS, ticketing, asset-management, remote-support, or field-service platforms.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, or technical drawings.
  • OSHA 10, electrical-safety/LOTO, CompTIA A+/Network+, mechatronics, industrial-maintenance, electronics, or OEM certifications.
  • Experience training equipment operators or customer maintenance personnel.

Travel and Work Environment

  • Approximately 40%–60% travel, based on deployment and service demand, with overnight travel regularly possible.
  • Regional travel is primary; national assignments may occur as the service footprint expands.
  • Occasional early-morning, evening, weekend, or urgent onsite work may be required.
  • Work may take place in warehouses, factories, distribution centers, hospitality environments, commercial buildings, parking facilities, and active customer operations.
  • With or without reasonable accommodation, the employee must be able to safely use tools; access service panels; stand, walk, bend, and kneel; and handle job-required tools, parts, and accessories. Carts, team lifting, or mechanical assistance will be used when appropriate.

Compensation and Growth

The base salary range for this full-time position is $58,240–$70,720 annually, depending on directly relevant experience, technical capability, and qualifications. Approved business travel expenses are reimbursed under company policy.
This role offers a competency-based path from Tier 2 Field Technician / Deployment Assistant to Deployment Specialist and, with demonstrated advanced capability, Deployment Engineer.

What Success Looks Like

  • Safe, timely completion of assigned service and preventive-maintenance visits.
  • Strong first-visit restoration and low repeat-incident rates for work within Tier 2 authority.
  • Accurate, complete, and timely service documentation.
  • Reliable parts, tools, warranty-return, and vehicle-stock control.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
